Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak perlu diberi peluang serta ruang secukupnya bagi menyelesaikan segala masalah tertangguh dalam hubungan dua hala Malaysia dan Singapura dalam membawa manfaat  kepada negara untuk tempoh jangka masa panjang.

Sebagai Perdana Menteri Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib sudah pasti mempunyai kebijaksanaan dalam membuat rundingan dengan Singapura yang selama ini, gagal dilakukan pemimpin terdahulu termasuk Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Kenapa perlu beri tekanan kepada Perdana Menteri, saya yakin beliau tahu apa yang dilakukan dan ia dibuktikan dengan kenyataan segera bahawa kerajaan akan mengkaji pembinaan jambatan sebaik mendapat titah Sultan Johor, Sabtu lalu.

JOHOR BARU, Oct 26 - Umno upstart Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed today quit the race for the party deputy presidency, telling his Pulai division meeting that he will carry on as the voice of the young while trusting the incoming party leadership to push for changes and reforms.

Nur Jazlan, who announced his interest on Oct 4, has not received any nominations for the post. Instead party elders have criticised him with former president and prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad calling him and two others “jokers” for their quest. Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin leads the pack for the No 2 post with 52 nominations, followed by Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam with 16 and Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib with nine. Read more

In Malaysian politics Tun Mahathir is still an influential figure. If a young politician tend to bend to Tun Mahathir’s philosophies right from the start, there is no reason to analyze the politicians policies. They will be utterly similar to that of the former Prime Minister, which is something we have already seen a plenty during the latter’s 22 years in power.

However, if the young United Malays National Organization’s (Umno) politician jump start his or her career by standing against Tun Mahathir on some issues, this is a very good reason to give attention to this politician and a good reason to understand his or her philosophies. KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - A young Malaysian politician has thrown his hat in the race to become the country’s next deputy leader in a major test of the country’s political system where hierarchy and age rule.

Nur Jazlan Mohamed, a 42-year-old lawmaker, is drawing inspiration from 47-year-old Barrack Obama, the first-time senator who is the frontrunner for U.S. president.

Unlike in the United States, Malaysia’s atropied ruling party, the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), is run by people in their 60s who are struggling to fight off a challenge from youthful opposition leaders. Read more

Nur Jazlan not pulling out of race

JOHOR BARU, Oct 10 - Pulai Umno division head Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said today he was not withdrawing from contesting the Umno deputy president post.

He said his decision to join in the fray  was not out of personal pleasure but to beef up efforts to rejuvenate Umno and woo the younger generation to join the party.
