Bagi Najib Masa
June 30, 2010

A BACKBENCHER yesterday disputed the claim by opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that Maybank would incur between RM1 and RM2 billion in unaccounted losses by acquiring a controlling stake in Bank International Indonesia (BII).
Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed (BN-Pulai), in defending Maybank’s purchase, said Anwar’s insinuation that the money was funnelled into someone’s pockets was irresponsible and misleading.
“How exactly is it funnelled into someone’s pockets? This is manipulation of facts. It is easy to accuse the Barisan Nasional of corruption, to say things that are baseless.
“The fact is the money is not lost if you look at investment in the long term. Read more
ZUBAIDAH ABU BAKAR: Survival rests on infusing new blood
October 29, 2008
From the NST:
HAVE the Umno grassroots come to terms with the reality that the 62-year-old party needs new blood or risks disengaging from the masses?
The March 8 general election was an eye-opener, at least as reflected in the present trend of nominations for senior party positions where a significant number of younger leaders are taking the lead.
The “political tsunami” may have jolted a large segment of Umno’s three million members into seeing that the party is getting “too old to play its old tune”.
This is constructive and, hopefully, the younger leaders who obtained more nominations than the older ones will be successful in their quests. Read more
